Look up another program, and if you love doing this kind of stuff save up some money and buy a guitar to learn how to play it. If black metal is your thing then you should check those out instead of FL. I personally use Sonar but there's a ton of great programs for that kind of music (physical instruments) such as Reaper, Cubase, Garage band, Abbleton to name but a few. You can maybe mix metal/rock there if you fancy it, but i'd highly suggest going for another program. Fl is a very cool program but not for creating metal music from scratch, fl is more for electronic music of any kind and maybe hip hop loopy stuff. :)Īdd "Please never" or "i shouldn't be" or "Just stop" or "Why you should never find yourself" in front of the title and you're good to go. I hope to share what I come up with in the future. Thanks for you time, and thanks for the help in advance. Or if anyone has ever programmed a flute before? I've tried it a little bit, with some success, but it's still hard for me. Perhaps someone has some advice on riffs and chords? Even folk acoustic chords would be helpful, since I will add some of that later. It's been difficult getting my head around song structure, etc, for example. Thus far, i have some mild success since I've figured out (though have forgotten again, but my rescued file is intact, so I have to deduce it from the track) how to do tremolo, with some Wolve in the throne-esque chords.īut yeah, does anyone have any general advice on making such music? Or even metal in general? Music in general? I'm a music n00b, can't play real instruments very well, and my music theory is extremely basic, so it's been a battle to figure it all out. Overall, I'm going for a ambient/atmospheric folk black metal-type sound. I also hope to add other instruments, like an acoustic guitar, and bass, maybe others. So that covers electric distrotion guitar and flute, respectively. I also have been using both Shreddage X (I'd love to get Shreddage 2 sometime too) and MesaWinds through kontakt 4. However, I'm still figuring it out, so if anyone has advice of using it, especially if there is a way to emulate my drum samples with EZ Drummer: EZ Drummer has a much nicer sound. As it is, I originally was using drum samples, but have recently switched to EZ Drummer 2. This project is an attempt at making black metal.
